ScanPro Optimal PC settings 8 steps
(they all matter, including step 4 regarding the antivirus!)
1. Windows Up to date

2. Latest version of PowerScan Software

3. Check USB3.0 cable plugged in snug. Always good to unplug and plug back in both sides. Do not use the USB3.0 port on the front of the PC, this could work in a lower power setting.

4. Typically antivirus interference causes the PowerScan software to hang..
To resolve the issue, please add the following two folders to the exceptions list of every antivirus program running on your PC. Please note that it is becoming increasingly common for agencies to operate multiple antivirus programs simultaneously.
* `C:\ProgramData\PowerScan xxxx` (This folder may be hidden)
* `C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerScan xxxx [64-bit]` or `C:\Program Files\PowerScan xxxx [32 bit]`
When configuring these settings, please ensure you use the exact folder names without any wildcards. It is highly recommended to navigate to and select the folders directly within your antivirus program rather than manually typing them.

5. Open Control Panel
-under "Preferred Plans" choose the highest performance setting available.

8.Please check the computer BIOS settings. Look for "C" States, "S" states and Deep Sleep states. Disable all of these. NOT ALL PC's ARE THE SAME, THIS MIGHT TAKE RESEARCH TO FIND THESE THREE SETTINGS ON YOUR PC.

Below is example for DELL Optiplex:
hit F2 while rebooting
-C STATE CONTROL , under PERFORMANCE, it was checked, i unchecked it.
-DEEP SLEEP CONTROL under POWER MANAGEMENT it was enabled in S4 and S5, i disabled it.
